Show your Love at Western Fremont Historical Society’s 4 th Annual “Wheels of

Time” Car Show on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 10am-2:00pm. at 0070 CR 56,

Howard, CO. We are encouraging anyone who would like to show off their car, truck

or motorbike to participate in this event. FREE Vehicle Registration begins at 9:00 AM

at the Howard History Center. Entrants will receive a gift bag with a raffle ticket and can

take part in a 50/50 drawing. They will also receive a complimentary photo (you & your

entry) via email.

Vehicles will be displayed around the Square and Howard Hall area.

Free Admission to the public. This year, WFHS will be doing the lunch at Howard

Hall beginning at 11:00am as a fundraiser. Again, we will have trolley rides around the

Square with history tours; hearts to give out to your favorite vehicle; special exhibit of

car memorabilia; 1890s Courting Buggy; and Live Entertainment—Open-Mic Music--

Anyone can bring their instrument or sing.

Memories

Western Fremont Historical Society invites the public to attend and participate in a

community conversation celebrating family, traditions, and treasured keepsakes on

Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Cotopaxi-Mullins History

Center, located at the corner of Plum Street and County Road 12 in Cotopaxi. Free

admission. Light refreshments will be served.


Bring a cherished item—a photo; quilt; jewelry such as a broach, ring, hat pin; letter;

tool; toy, or small collection such as spoons, salt & peppers, etc.—and share its story as

part of a discussion led by Betsy Denney and Craig Leitner.

Tour of Texas Creek and Hillside Cemetery

Explore local history with the WFHS Tour of Texas Creek and Hillside Cemetery. The public is invited to

join a tour guided by Western Fremont Historical Society of the Texas Creek area and Hillside Cemetery.

Don’t miss this special learning opportunity led by Historian Betsy Denney featuring charcoal kiln

remnants, former railroad site, and stories of past businesses and families in the Texas Creek area. Visit

the site of the brothel and view other landmarks. Travel to the San Isabel View Cemetery, also known as

the Hillside Cemetery. Hear more stories about the pioneer families buried at Hillside.

Registration is at 9:30 a.m. at the Cotopaxi-Mullins History Center located at the corner of CR 12 and

Plum Street in Cotopaxi, Colorado. Cost for this event is $12 for members and those under the age of 17

years and $15 for Non-members. Departure will be at 10:00 a.m. for the tour. Carpooling is

encouraged.

Bring a sack lunch, water, snacks, sunscreen, jacket, and hat. Wear sturdy shoes for walking on uneven

terrain. Please no dogs.

Plum Street Heritage Festival

Join Us for the 3rd Annual Plum Street Heritage Festival on Sunday, October 12th! Western Fremont Historical Society invites everyone to the Plum Street Heritage Festival on Sunday, October 12th, 2025, from 12:30 Noon to 3:00 PM at the Cotopaxi-Mullins History Center at the corner of CO. Rd. 12 & Plum Street in Cotopaxi, CO.  

Enjoy browsing through the WFHS collection of artifacts, books, and research materials during this Cotopaxi-Mullins History Center Heritage Open House.

Participate in Open-Mic Music for any instrument or vocals or sit under a canopy and enjoy listening to the variety of tunes; Delicious food including Hot Dog & Chips ($5); Drink ($1); Apple Pie by the slice ($3 or with ice cream-$5); Coke or Root Beer Float ($4 or 2 for $7); Ice Cream Cup ($4). Purchase a whole Homemade Heritage Apple Pie for $20. Cider Press Demonstration by Cinde McPhail. Join in horseshoes and corn hole games.
